"Electromagnetic" image of a fault located in layered carbonate of Cretaceous Age. Electric resistance of limestones is defined by a water-saturation and presence of the clay layers. Right (Northern) block is lowered at 30 metres, and composing it limestones are strongly fractured and water-saturated. The well for water selection was drilled directly in the fractured zone.

The main objective of this research was construction of the fault’s zone at south part of China (close to Chengdu). The situation was not favorable for EM sounding: narrow pass between mountains and river and several power lines just above the road. Strong electrical noise created problem during measurements and following interpretation. Only because of unique robust properties of the TEM-FAST system it was possible to solve this problem.
